Dear Francisca and family, We are very sorry to hear of the passing of Betti and hope that in the end everything went as smoothly as can be expected. Our condolences go to you and your family. I first met up with Betti in 1978. I was visiting Vancouver with my Mother. I looked up in the phone book for any Fronczek's living in Vancouver and came across Harry. I rang the number and asked if he came from Holland. So he was and we both remembered a holiday in Muidenberg, when we were 7 years old. Harry came over to see us where we were staying. He then told us that Betti also was living in Vancouver and her Mother, Tante Bets. We met Betti at her apartment, not Tante Bets, she was also at that time very ill. My Mother knew Tante Bets very well in the years they lived in Holland. After that we had opportunities to meet up a few more times. Lately I haven't been through Vancouver as Air New Zealand and KLM broke their ties. But Vancouver was always my favourite stop-over. I have many fond memories of Betti, she sure was a character of a kind, she will always be with me.
