I'd like to take the opportunity on this, the one year anniversary of Bomps' death, to share how much she positively inspired me. Her strength, tempered by her femininity and (especially as I grew older - whether that was her changing or me I'm not sure) her sense of humour were attributes I admired. Forthrightness, pride, clarity & a love of surrounding oneself with beautiful things all were also important facets of who she was, and who I strive to be. I am proud and happy that my daughter, Chloe Elisabeth, carries her name & I am sad that they did not meet. I will be sure to try my best to bestow on Chloe (to the best of my ability) these same strengths. xoxoxoBetti! Love Scarlet

When we met in 1955, it instantly clicked between us. We were both at crossroads in our life and able to support each other mostly with humor and laughter. Nothing - not even death - can take away those memories.
And while we both have made new friends over the years, they only see us as we have become but we know the history that we grew from and that shaped us to face the future events of our life. Because of this history there has always been a continuity in our relationship which has been so comfortable and treasured.
You will never be forgotten. As always, Nettie
To Karin and Francisca:
Thank you so very much for keeping me informed about your mom's situation. The following quote of Kahlil Gibran comes into my head whenever I think of you girls.
"Oh heart, if one should say to you that the soul perishes like the body, answer that the flower withers, but the seed remains."
Betti lives on.
Namaste, Nettie

I remember Betti as a great and strong woman. She was a step-grandmother to me, but unlike any grandmother I'd known; so youthful and full of life, and always so forthright.
It's sad to think that she is no longer here, but at the same time I know that she lives on in all the great people she's raised.
